Nikon Eclipse TE2000 Inverted Research Microscope Systems
Nikon Updated: 2007-06-19Setting a new standard for live cell inverted microscopy.
Modularity and expandability make the TE2000 the ultimate optical breadboard for all of today’s advanced research applications. TE2000 inverted microscopes were conceived to provide the highest level of optical performance for the demands of cutting edge research. Available in four models, TE2000 microscopes all feature a multi-port design and an exclusive stratum structure which allows them to be flexibly configured to meet the progressively advanced and diversified applications of today and tomorrow.
Multi-port Design
The TE2000 is available in 4 models, all featuring an exclusive multi-port design. Coupled with an extendable main body structure, all models can be flexibly configured to meet the progressively advanced and diversified applications of today and tomorrow.
Designed for System Expandability
The TE2000 is the first inverted microscope to take full advantage of, and utilize, the infinity space. Its multi-port design enables optical input/output of light and images from a wide variety of illumination and detector equipment and extendable "Stratum Structure" configuration permits the addition of an optional light source and other attachments within the infinity path without modifying the microscope. The TE2000 allows for the insertion of laser adapter for introducing laser illumination into the microscope for techniques such as TIRF, FRAP, Tweezers, or laser micro dissection and enables the use of standard Epi-Fluorescence techniques simultaneously or sequentially or the use of other techniques such as high-resolution deconvolution and 3D imaging.
Motorized Control
The TE2000 is designed to accept modular motorized key components in major sections of the microscope, which allows the researcher to retrofit and control the desired combinations of accessories via the dedicated communications hub controller to facilitate the scientists research requirements.
Motorized Capabilities Include:
- The dedicated communications hub controller enables external control of the microscope from a PC, making it easy to control the system components for acquisition of data with a wide variety of commercial image analysis software.
- Stand-alone operation of any motorized option is available via a "Smart Touch" control pad.
- It is possible to retrofit and control the following modular options: motorized 6-place DIC type nosepiece, motorized universal system condenser, motorized Epi-fl filter cube switching, motorized Epi-fl shutter, motorized DIC analyzer, motorized excitation filter wheel, motorized barrier filter wheel, and motorized attachable remote focus driver.
- All motorized options are connected through and controlled by the communications hub or "Smart Touch" control pad.
- Third party motorized stages (Prior or Ludl) and fast shutters (Uniblitz) can also be connected through the hub controller - PC software control commands are documented in the user manual and are available in SDK.
Unprecedented Signal-to-Noise Ratio
The new Noise Terminator technology directs deviated stray light out of the objective light collection path. This results in images of high contrast and unparalleled S/N ratio during fluorescence observation using advanced techniques such as evanescence wave microscopy (TIRF) increasing the contrast and extending the detection level limit.
CFI60 Optical System
Exclusive Nikon CFI60 optical system ensures excellent resolution with high numerical apertures and longer working distances. DIC prisms for 10x and 20x ensure even field illumination, and user selectable imaging adapters for front port, direct C-mount, digital D1X or SLR mounts with correct image format.
Stability for Greater Precision
The TE2000 is constructed with high-strength alloy material, M-45, used in the main body to achieve stability that supports greater precision. It's resistant to ambient temperature fluctuations, producing stable, non-drifting, focused images. Optimal structural design using CAE simulation for stability and high resistance to vibration ensures stable imaging over a long period of time. Also incorporates improved focusing movement precision.
Ergonomic Design
- Frequently used buttons and controls are all located at the front and within easy reach. An external fine focus unit is available for the TE2000-E model.
The nosepiece is inclined to the left, making it easy to read the magnification and adjust the correction ring. - The low-profile stage facilitates handling of specimens.
The 25 degree inclination eyepiece tubes, T-TP,T-TS, minimize fatigue during long hours of observation. - An ergonomic tilting eyepiece tube is optionally available. The inclination angle is adjustable from 15° to 45°.
- Eye-level riser is available as option.
Greater Z-axis Precision
The model TE2000-E features a motorized focus that is precisely controlled by high-precision Z-axis readout. This feature is perfect for research that requires comprehensive 3D information about the specimen.
Auto Descending Nosepiece
The TE2000-E is provided with a mechanism so that when changing the objective magnification, the nosepiece automatically decends and returns to the original height after the rotation is finished. This design permits the researcher to rotate the nosepiece easily and safely to change the objective magnification.
4 Models to Choose From
TE2000-E: Incorporates a high precision motorized-focus and vibration-free optical path changeover mechanism that facilitates image capture in 3D.
