SurfLock™
SurfLock™ gives the viewer the freedom to browse programs on other channels then return to the original channel at any time simply by pressing one button. Simple to operate, the viewer just needs to press and hold the channel return button for one second, which will store the current channel number into memory. The viewer can then scan available channels, and when ready to return to the original, simply presses the channel return button again to view the channel in memory.

Zoom Mode
Toshiba already provides two consumer selectable 16:9 Modes for display of a wide screen HDTV image on a 4:3 television. The Compression Mode creates black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and displays all 1080 lines inside the illuminated 16:9 portion of the screen. The Letterbox Mode actively scans the entire screen, creating gray bars above and below the picture area. This mode significantly reduces the chances of uneven CRT wear or "burn-in" when compared to the Compression Mode. While the television is set to the Letterbox Mode before leaving the factory, the final option is left to the consumer. Now, we also offer Zoom, which crops and expands a 16:9 image so that it fills the screen of a 4:3 TV (eliminating any black or gray bars).
