Yamaha DPX-1 Video Projector

FILM-LIKE PICTURE QUALITY
The DPX-1 delivers film-like picture quality for home theater movie reproduction. The unit uses a single DLP™ chip design, so no alignment is required.

GREATER BRIGHTNESS AND RESOLUTION
Yamaha has selected DLP™ technology for its extraordinary resolution, brightness and contrast.

LARGER CHIPS, LARGER IMAGE
The Digital Micromirror Device™ is the key to excellence of DLP™ technology and Yamaha uses a large - 0.9 inch - DMD™ semiconductor. The larger chip, provides 65% more area than the chip used in many projectors. It generates greater light output, so less magnification is required and greater detail is seen.

TRI-COLOR WHEEL
The DPX-1 employs a true tri-color wheel with one segment for each RGB color. Conventional color wheels have a clear section, important in data display for white brightness boost, but not useful in movie or video reproduction. The tri-color wheel yields nearly a 40% higher contrast ratio than projectors using a conventional wheel.

DIGITAL VIDEO PROCESSING
The DPX-1 uses digital video processing to optimize sources of marginal video quality. The processing maintains clean and natural edges, improves the quality of poor MPEG images, and reduces 3D video noise.

SCIROCCO FAN AND SPECIAL DUCT PATHS
The DPX-1 utilizes a quiet scirocco-type fan rather than a conventional blade model. The fan and special duct architecture and a silencing chamber combine to make the unit nearly silent during operation - an important part of home theater enjoyment.

STABLE IMAGE PERFORMANCE
The ducting moves heated air away from the light path to ensure stable image performance. The ruggedly built and high quality Yamaha power supply also assures reliable operation.

MULTIPLE INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
The DPX-1 features a full complement of professional grade inputs for a variety of sources, including component video with BNC terminals for maximum connection integrity, digital RGB and DVI (Digital Visual Interface), composite and S-video.

REMOTE CONTROL OPTIONS
The DPX-1 provides an RS-232C serial interface for control by PC or other sophisticated remote control system. A +12V trigger can activate other components when the projector is powered on.
