Adacel Inc.,the leading software, simulation, systems integration and training companyAdacel Logo providing scalable solutions and professional training services to the air transport, defense and enterprise industries, chose JVC Professional Products Company to supply the United States Air Force (USAF) with over 500 D-ILA projector units throughout the next 3 years. Currently, 95 DLA-G150CL and 20 DLA-M15U projectors are used in Adacel's Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation system.

The principle goal of the visual system is to provide a representation of the view from an ATC tower. These visual simulators are used by teachers to train new ATC controllers and by researchers to analyze current airspace procedures. The projectors display the, computer generated, 3D images utilized to create the Out The Window view in an ATC visual simulator.

USAF requires that the projectors have a high base resolution in order for a pixel to represent the smallest number of arc minutes possible. One arc minute is equivalent to 1/60 of a degree of lattitude or longitude. Additionally, a high contrast ratio is required to help detect subtle differences in the visual scene. Furthermore, uniformity in the brightness and color within each screen and from one screen to another helps in maintaining visual contact with the aircraft as it moves throughout the multiple screen display. JVC's high native resolution, image uniformity, and high contrast ratio meet these requirements.

The DLA-G150CL projector displays images that are as close to film as possible for critical screening applications. The projector boasts a remarkable 600:1 contrast ratio, and an optimum 1000 ANSI lumen brightness, ideal for screens 6 to 12 feet wide. High definition HDTV images are sharp and crisp with enhanced depth and superior clarity because of the projector's S-XGA (1365 x 1024) native resolution.

The DLA-M15U projects brilliant, high-resolution, big-screen S-XGA images that rival images produced by conventional CRT projectors. With 1500 ANSI lumens of brightness, a single lens design that eliminates complicated alignments and an adjustable shift lens that lets you stack projectors for even greater brightness output, the DLA-M15U is an ideal solution for today's demanding projection requirements.
