D-Link DVA-G3810BN Triple-Play Home Gateway

The D-Link DVA-G3810BN Triple-Play Home Gateway is a versatile home networking device designed to support a variety of data distribution standards. This device combines Internet access via a built-in ADSL modem, a NAT/SPI router, 4 10/100 Ethernet ports, 802.11g wireless access, dual-WAN capabilities, an HPNA v3.1 coaxial port, an FXS port to attach an analog phone to make Voice-over-IP (VoIP) phone calls, and a USB port to attach a network storage device.

The QoS environment that the DVA-G3810BN creates enables the end-user to share a high-speed Internet connection, utilize VoIP services, enjoy online and network gaming, or watch IPTV all through a single device.

Connectivity
The DVA-G3810BN Triple-Play Home Gateway includes a built-in ADSL2/2+ modem and router, enabling connected devices to share access to a high-speed broadband Internet connection. Having a high-speed DSL connection gives users more time to enjoy listening to music and watching videos rather than spending time waiting for the files to finish downloading.

Dual-WAN capabilities allow users to essentially combine two broadband connections to their network. Using load balancing, Internet speeds to devices connected to the DVA-G3810BN will be enhanced. Plus, Dual-WAN capabilities make a network more reliable by creating a redundant Internet connection.

Wired and Wireless
The DVA-G3810BN includes a 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch and an 802.11g wireless access point, allowing users to connect computers, printers, gaming consoles, and digital media players throughout their home, wired or wirelessly.

HPNA v3.1
With the included port for Coax Home Powerline Network Alliance (HPNA), users can integrate coax-enabled devices such as TV set-top boxes and coax bridges to their home network. A combination of faster data throughput (128Mbps), a farther effective overall distance than traditional mediums such as 10/100 Ethernet cabling, and the use of existing coax cables already wired throughout the home make HPNA a viable connectivity solution to transfer bandwidth intensive files such as High-Definition media content.

Integration
With support for USB 2.0/1.1 storage devices, users can simply attach a USB portable hard drive to create shared network storage complete with RAID support. The included Foreign Exchange Service (FXS) port allows users to plug in a traditional phone, effectively turning an analog phone into a digital phone that is able to make VoIP calls and utilize VoIP services.

Security
The DVA-G3810BN Triple-Play Gateway's active firewall offers network protection by using Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and Network Address Translation (NAT) technology. Network management features like MAC address filtering prevents unauthorized access, while parental control features prevent family members from viewing inappropriate content. The Triple-Play Gateway also supports WPA2™, WPA™, and WEP encryption for added network protection.

QoS
With 802.1p QoS support, time-sensitive data will be placed in priority queues, streamlining applications such as VoIP, video streaming, and online gaming. The DVA-G3810BN has a highly configurable QoS application menu, allowing for Diffserv marking and queuing, Port-based QoS, and Random Early Detection (RED) according to queue size.

Remote Management
Support for remote management features such as TR-064, TR-069, and TR-111 allow the ISP to contact the DVA-G3180BN for automatic configuration, updates and remote diagnostics, simplifying management and increasing overall effectiveness while remaining relatively transparent to the end-user.
