It's a Touch Sensitive…
The YPT300 features 61 keys that respond to your touch. A heavier touch will create a louder sound, a lighter touch will give you a softer one. This means that your keyboard will respond like an acoustic piano – expressive playing will give you expressive results.

Yamaha Education Suite™ (Y.E.S.5)
The YPT300 features 102 built-in songs for you to learn to play, using Y.E.S.5. The songs are separated into left and right hand parts, providing 7 levels of lessons plus a convenient chord dictionary.

Three keyboard lessons for each hand:

* LISTEN & LEARN the melody or rhythm of a selected song.
* TIMING mode allows you to play the melody or chord by pressing any key using the correct timing.
* WAITING mode stops the playback of a song until you find the correct note and then continues.
* Lesson Grading – monitors your progress as you practice each lessons two and three to give you feedback.
* Chord Dictionary – shows you how to play chords and tells you which chords you are playing by displaying the notes and chord name on the LCD screen.

Reverb
Have you always wanted to play Carnegie Hall? Yamaha has been an industry leader in digital signal processing for years. The YPT300 takes full advantage of our experience. With the touch of a button, the reverb effects can simulate the experience playing in a small room or a large concert hall – there are 10 effects to choose from. In addition, this keyboard offers four chorus effects to add a deeper effect to your musical session.

The YPT300 also features a large selection of professional sounding voices called XGlite. Only Yamaha has the capacity to support the XGlite voices – offering you even more compatibility with 3rd party OR Yamaha XG software.

Sound Effects Kit
Don't think keyboards are cool?!? Wait'll you put the YPT300 through it's paces … this keyboard will Laugh with you, Applaud for you, and Scream like the poor dope in a slasher film. It's all up to you, be your own Sound Effect technician. There are almost 50 to choose from.

This Keyboard Surfs!
With built-in Flash ROM capability and a MIDI/USB cable (not included), the YPT300 can connect to your PC! You can pick and choose songs to download from the Internet into the Flash ROM, then learn to use them using our exclusive Yamaha Education Suite 5 to play them. Yamaha has made it easy – no scrolling through menus, just press the PC Button and you're on your way.

General MIDI (GM) Compatible/MIDI IN and OUT for Computer Connectivity
Enjoy the information superhighway on a whole new level. MIDI is the path between your keyboard and the internet. With GM you have access to thousands of MIDI song files on the internet!1

The YPT300 features a Large, Backlit LCD display. This shows off the musical staff and chords as you play.

Auto Accompaniment Styles
Can't decide? We've built an auto-accompaniment feature into our keyboards! Just select a style – there are 100 to choose from – then play a note or chord on the left side of the keyboard, and play your melody on the right side. The keyboard will create a back-up band and follow you through the song. Have a blast experimenting with different styles … find out how Mozart would sound as a Disco star at the push of a button!

Polyphony and Multi-Timbrel
Polyphony is the number of sounds a keyboard can make at the same time. Obviously, more is better, but more sounds means more memory. Many keyboards at this price point only offer 12-note polyphony but the YPT300 offers 32 notes of polyphony and will play back 32 different parts or sounds at once (16 part multi-timbrel). That's enough for even the most demanding piece!

The Little things that Count:

* Real Stereo Speakers – Don't be fooled! Just because a keyboard has two speakers doesn't mean that they're truly stereo speakers. Each of the speakers in the YPT300 has separate amplifiers with stereo-sampling technology.
* Bass Ports – A special port on each speaker adds a powerful impact to bass sound reproduction.
* Metronome – Keep the beat! A fully adjustable metronome is built-in, and just a touch away.
