Nikon Eclipse 50i POL Polarizing Microscope

A compact polarizing microscope that balances optical performance and ease of use.

With its small footprint, the Eclipse 50i POL is a basic polarizing microscope that offers poweful optics and comfortable operation in an affordable package. Available in diascopic and episcopic illumination types, the 50i POL features a newly designed illumination system that provides greater brightness than any microscope in its class.

CFI60 Infinity Optical System
The CFI60 optical system combines Nikon's renowned CF optical design with infinity corrected optics to overcome the limitations of the traditional infinity design. CFI60 optics provide longer working distances and higher NA's to deliver startlingly clear images at any magnification because chromatic aberrations are corrected over the entire field of view.

Reversed centering Quintuple Nosepiece
Up to five objectives from 4x to 100x can be mounted. Provided with a DIN compliant compensator slot, this nosepiece accepts various compensators of any make.

Intermediate Tube
The intermediate tube incorporates a Bertrand lens, enabling both the observation and capture of conoscopic and orthoscopic images. The Bertrand lens is focusable and centerable. The slider-type analyzer is 360° rotatable and graduated in 1° increments. The intermediate tube accepts specialty compensators including: Quarter and Full Wave, Quartz Wedge and Senarmont compensators.

Diascopic and Episcopic Polarization
Both diascopic and episcopic polarizing observations are possible by mounting the LV-UEPI universal epi-illuminator. Switching between illumination modes is effortless. The illuminator is brighter than a 100W lamp. With an optional universal-type nosepiece and DIC accessories, Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) microscopy is also possible.

Episcopic DIC (Differential Interference Contrast)
By mounting the LV-UEPI universal epi-illuminator and optional universal-type nosepiece and DIC accessories including Episcopic objectives, Episcopic DIC microscopy is possible.
