Leica BM E Compound Microscope

The expectations even for starter microscopes are growing all the time. With our 150 years of experience and competence in microscopy, we play a major role in shaping developments in this area. That's why we designed the Leica BM E. Thanks to its compact build, easy access controls, 45° viewing angle and 360° rotatable observation tubes, users of all shapes and sizes will be able to work at this microscope with ease and convenience. The Leica BM E has an extremely small footprint, is easy to carry and stays cool in spite of its powerful illumination. A blue filter is integrated to prevent loss. And the low position of the x/y stage minimizes wrist movement.

Superb E series optics provide brilliant, high contrast imaging quality. Utilise E1 or E2 series optics, depending on performance and budget requirements. Standard level E1 optics are utilised on the BM E. Anti-Fungus / Mold warranty protects your investment. Spring-loaded high magnification objectives prevent broken sample slides.
Standard 18mm field of view / 10x eyepiece provides a wide FOV and comfortable operation. Standard, high eyepoint eyepieces available with pointer and accept 21 mm reticules for measuring or counting applications. Available with monocular, binocular, teaching or video viewing bodies. Dual focus adjustments for interpupillary distance (IPD) assure parfocality. All objectives are parfocal and parcentered to minimize refocusing 360 degree rotatable viewing bodies provides ease of sharing an instrument.

Construction
Diecast metal stand for strength and durability in demanding environments. Rear facing nosepiece allows easy access to sample and comfortable operation. Low heat output protects the user and allows comfortable operation. Meets or exceeds international safety standards of UL, cUL, VDE, CE and EMC. Protects the user and investment. Coaxial coarse / fine focus controls are ergonomically located, and the gearless focus drive eliminates stage drift problems found on lesser quality instruments.

Illumination
Bright 12W, 2,000 hour Tungsten-Halogen lamp version is 20x longer than other microscopes. Saves time and replacement cost and minimizes down time 7W, 10,000 hour fluorescent lamp version provides cool, bright illumination. Saves even more time and replacement cost and minimizes downtime than the Halogen model. Tungsten-Halogen illumination does not change color or intensity throughout the life of the lamp. Easy lamp change minimizes downtime.

Comfort and Convenience
The compact size of the Leica BM E keeps key controls within easy reach and takes up less table and storage space. Low heat output for comfortable operation. Built-in blue filter to prevent loss.

45 degree viewing angle and 360 degree rotatable viewing bodies for easy sharing and comfortable viewing. Low position of mechanical stage minimises wrist movement.

Accessories
Upgradeable to higher level E2 series Leica Microsystems optics. Choice of fixed or mechanical stages with Abbe or disc diaphragm condensers. Economical 35 mm camera solutions for photomicrography. Fixed or separate video accessories provide flexibility. Hardwood or soft padded cases available for storage and transportation.
