The new XP Embedded version allows more flexibility for management of certain peripherals, as it uses the same drivers as Windows XP PRO.

We successfully tested 3G cards from Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR, which will make it possible for the users to have unlimited WIFI access and benefit from GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA coverage from the various operators.

It also allows the addition of light local applications like: customer VPN, Word, Excel and PowerPoint viewers.

The NEC TCM160 XPe was also validated with authentication solutions such as Sign & Go from ILEX which appeals to healthcare professionals with CPS cards, and BlueLoc from BlueLinea: a radio operator frequency system, also often used in the medical world.

These two solutions can easily be adapted to a Microsoft Terminal Server and/or a CITRIX environment.
