The DVD-1000 plays the just introduced Digital Versatile Discs (DVD), Video CD's, and conventional Compact Discs. For the first time movies can be seen at home with digital picture as well as sound. In all formats, the new format delivers better performance specifications than the formats previously available.

TWIN-FOCUS LASER
The high performance laser pick-up focuses independently to provide top-quality Video CD, Audio CD, and DVD performance.

MULTI-ANGLE/MULTI-SHOT
When the director has provided multiple angles or shots of a particular scene, the DVD-1000 allows the viewer to select which angle is actually screened.

MULTI-LANGUAGE/MULTI-SUBTITLE
The DVD-1000 can handle soundtracks in up to 8 languages and provide subtitles for 32 languages.

SUPERIOR VIDEO PERFORMANCE
Video specifications include MPEG-2 video with greater than 500 lines of horizontal resolution and luminance and signal-to-noise ratio of 65 dB.

SUPERIOR AUDIO PERFORMANCE
Audio features include optical digital and analog outputs for the Dolby Digital 5.1 channel format and PCM with 48 kHz sampling and 20-bit resolution.
