Yamaha RX-V3300 Natural Sound Home Theater Receiver

POWERFUL DIGITAL HOME THEATER RECEIVER
The RX-V3300 is a versatile, top class receiver designed to serve as the core component of any high quality home theater system. Major features include 8-channel discrete amplification (130W x 6 + 25W x 2), Yamaha's Digital ToP-Art design concept, Quad-Field CINEMA DSP, 33 surround programs, SILENT CINEMA, and direct access remote control. Compatible with the newest 6.1-channel movie sound formats including Dolby Digital EX, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24.

ADVANCED DECODING CIRCUITRY
The decoding circuitry performs Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS Digital Surround, DTS-ES DTS-ES (Matrix 6.1 and DTS-ES Discrete 6.1), DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24 decoding with extreme accuracy, as well as all digital sound field processing. It also outperforms other systems in the precise synchronization of images and sound. Its low 3V power consumption minimizes digital noise.

8-CHANNEL HIGH POWER, DISCRETE AMPLIFIER CONFIGURATION
The RX-V3300 will deliver as much as 130W of power to each of six channels, (two main, two rear, one center and one rear center) plus 25W x 2 (two front effect). This is more than enough to fill even the largest rooms with vibrant music and Richter-scale sound effects.

33 DIFFERENT SOUND PROGRAMS YIELDING 53 VARIATIONS
Yamaha's exclusive Tri-Field Cinema DSP imaging for video sound and Digital Sound Field Processing for music delivers the most realistic and dramatic sound possible. The RX-V3300 features 33 different sound programs that provide a total of 53 variations, so every movie and every piece of music will sound right in your home theater.

EXTENDED I/R CODES
Yamaha's provision for extended I/R codes permits completely independent multi-zone operations. The unit also responds to extended I/R codes.

DIRECT ACCESS REMOTE UNIT
The RX-V3300's remote control can "learn" the functions of other components, so you can use it as a single remote for the entire system. It has a large memory capacity and comes pre-encoded with many television and component codes. The buttons in the component control area have difference functions for each type of component, selected by pressing the input button. The input name is shown in the LCD window, and you can change each name. Frequently used functions are easily accessible on the front, while others are located under the sliding panel. Finally, 15 different macros (multi-command) functions can be programmed.

INLET-TYPE POWER CABLE
The power cable is separate, rather than attached to the unit. It is a thicker type than usual, for higher capacity.

DIGITAL TOP-ART
Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) is the name Yamaha has given to a design philosophy whose goal is to maximize digital quality while minimizing analog circuitry. The culmination of the best digital engineering and design possible today, it brings together several key elements to create the best-sounding, easiest-to-use A/V components available.

QUAD-FIELD AND TRI-FIELD CINEMA DSP
Yamaha's exclusive Tri-Field Processing which applies Digital Sound Field Processing technology to Dolby Digital and DTS to create a true movie theater experience in the home. Yamaha also offers Quad-Field CINEMA DSP. It adds an additional rear center sound field to Tri-Field systems, in order to enjoy the new 6.1 channel formats, Dolby digital EX and DTS-ES.

CINEMA DSP
With Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, CINEMA DSP projects three sound fields into the home theater: a Presence sound field in the front and two Surround sound fields in the left rear and right rear. The Presence field supplies the dialogue, music and effects, while the Surround fields are independent stereo sound fields that create a large-scale surround environment, resulting in a powerfully realistic three-dimensional soundscape. Our newest Quad-Field system adds a rear center filed for 6.1-Channel Digital Surround formats.

VIRTUAL CINEMA DSP
Provides a realistic multi-channel surround experience using only two speakers.

SILENT CINEMA
Building on technology incorporated into its world famous "silent" musical instruments, Yamaha has added HRTF and "Virtual" technology to create a realistic surround movie effect using standard, two-channel headphones.

EXTENSIVE INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
In addition to the wide range of inputs and outputs provided on previous Yamaha receivers, the RX-V3300 also includes a Video Conversion connection (S-Video to Composite and Composite to S-Video, Monitor Out).

WIDE-RANGE FREQUENCY RESPONSE FOR DVD-AUDIO AND SACD
With an extremely wide frequency range of 10 to 100,000Hz, this receiver is capable of delivering the full potential of the new digital audio sources DVD-Audio and SACD.

HDTV COMPATIBLE COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
The frequency response of the Component Video Monitor Out signal is DC-60MHz, making it compatible with HDTV monitors.

ON-SCREEN DISPLAY
Allows you to easily establish, change, and adjust settings from across the room. The on-screen display for composite and S-video gives you a visual readout of the receiver's settings on your TV or monitor screen.

OIL-DAMPED HIDDEN CONTROL PANEL
The RX-V3300 has a Front Panel Aux Input Terminals with Optical Digital and S-Video Terminals: Auxiliary terminals with optical digital input make it convenient to connect a digital game console you can enjoy DVD games and movies.

PROCESSOR DIRECT SWITCHING
The RX-V3300 has a Processor Direct Switch that provides a direct signal connection between the processor board and the power amplifier section.

CUSTOM INSTALLATION COMPATIBILITY
The RX-V3300 is designed to be suitable for use in custom installations. It is equipped with an RS-232C interface that allows two-way communication between the amplifier and a touch-pad controller. You can use the output from the Front Effect pre-outs to enjoy stereo sound in a second room and use the digitally regulated volume control to adjust the Zone 2 sound level. There is a Zone 2 Selector, Zone 2 power amp assignability and a 12V trigger output to automatically power on Zone 2 components.

SPEAKER A/B SWITCHING
For convenience and versatility, the receiver can switch back and forth between two sets of speakers at the touch of a button.

REC OUT SELECTOR
The Rec Out Selector lets you choose which source you want to record. As you are recording, you can listen to that source or to the source selected by the Input Selector.

LINEAR DAMPING (MAIN L/R AND CENTER CHANNELS)
Levels variations due to high amp impedance tend to reduce an amplifier's damping factor, and frequency variations cause it to fluctuate. This circuit cancels the effect of these variations, maintaining a high, stable damping factor, for superior articulation of all sound and better frequency response.

BASS EXTENSION CONTROL
Turn the bass extension switch on to provide +6dB boost to the main speakers' low and centered at 60Hz. Frequencies under 50Hz will be cut by 12dB/oct. to prevent overdrive.

A/B SPEAKER SELECTOR
Allows selection of either a first set of speakers main speaker or a second-or both.

SLEEP TIMER
Permits a delayed receiver turn off. You can set it for up to two hours in 30 minute increments.

40-STATION DIRECT ACCESS PRESET TUNING
Up to 40 preset AM and FMs stations can be grouped in five groups eight stations. These groupings make it easy for family members to easily access their favorite stations or to have musical genres, such as all the jazz stations, grouped together.
