A premium AV receiver must process information from DVD's, broadcast, CD's, and other sources, and do it cleanly and powerfully. The VSX-710S does this with 100 Watts to 5 channels and a number of coaxial, optical, and digital inputs and terminals for system connections (with several on the front panel). You can dim the display illumination when playing a movie in a darkened room, and for a cleaner look, a door flips up to cover the front panel.
