The 4096-color OEL (Organic Electro Luminescence) display has 172 x 54 pixels for impressive clarity. OEL is a self-illuminating display technology that is easy to read and well-suited for displaying motion graphics, with a wide viewing angle and about five times the contrast of an LCD screen. The display is also customizable and features smoothly rendered 3D action graphics thanks to four-level full-dot (160 x 54) capability. Choose from three motion patterns including the Panasonic F1 race car and snow board, or switch to one of the 10 still-pattern presets. You can also customize the background (motion/still image), opening and ending screens using your own images. A huge variety of images is available at a special site where you can download your favorites onto to a CD-R/RW.

...While Hearing More
The CQ-C8405U is also equipped with SRS WOW, which allows natural 3D sound by automatically blending front and rear speaker effects. With three functions - SRS HRTF surround, SRS TruBass and SRS Focus (high or low settings) - SRS WOW reproduces 3D-quality sound even when only four speakers are installed.

Plug In More Devices
This expansion module ready receiver gives you the option of extending your digital lifestyle into your vehicle with the first expansion module (CY-EM100U, sold separately) designed specifically to link car audio equipment with a variety of digital devices. Plug in your iPod®, XM or Sirius satellite radio receiver, Bluetooth® hands-free cell phone kit, DVD/CD changer, video camera or video game system all at the same time. You can also connect your satellite radio receiver directly into the head unit or listen to your favorite tunes using the Direct Cable for iPod® (CA-DC300U, sold separately). Artist, album, track and playlist info from your iPod® is displayed and controlled on the head unit while it charges your battery.

Play More Music
The CQ-C8405U also plays CD-R/RW discs containing AAC, WMA and MP3 music files in addition to standard music CDs. And even if you've got mixed formats on the same disc, no problem - this CD receiver can handle it.

Experience More Power
Pump up the volume with a four-channel MOS-FET high-power built-in amp that delivers 50 watts to each speaker for a 200W total output, with 5V pre-amp outputs to the front and rear speakers and subwoofer. Unlike bipolar transistors, the MOS-FET amp has low crossover distortion for excellent signal-to-noise ratio in the high range. The high efficiency also means low power consumption and low heat radiation. In addition, the Super Bass Controlled Subwoofer (SBC-SW) allows the rear speakers to be used as a subwoofer exclusively for bass reproduction. The cutoff frequency and the rear output level are adjustable so low-range characteristics can be tailored to the music.
